The artist has donated the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor winnings to the MVT, which operates to save the United Kingdom's grassroots music venues.

Fender was presented with the cheque on mid-October as his third album People Watching was declared the outstanding release of the previous year.

He has decided to donate the funds to the trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function local spots played in his beginning days.

"I personally would not have achieved what I am doing today if it weren't for all the shows I did around the North East, and beyond, when I was just getting going," said Sam Fender. "These spaces are renowned, but they are struggling."

Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these venues have ceased operations – roughly 16 percent of the total UK scene.

Recently, major artists such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a small levy to their ticket prices, which supports local stages.

Sam Fender also joined in, raising more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to assist 38 local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.

These funds assisted spaces that were dealing with potential shutdown due to challenges arising from flooding, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and sound issues.

Some locations were granted funding support in improving infrastructure and technical equipment that positively impacted artists and audiences.

"The idea that funds from shows in major spaces supports the smaller venues, where it begins for performers like me, is just common sense," Fender has said.

The musician is far from the only musician to donate his honor prize money to good deeds.

In Pulp won the trophy in the year 1996 for their album their work, lead singer Jarvis Cocker stated that the act would give their winnings to the charity War Child.

In 2002, artist the artist split her award among a few organizations, including the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.

"Additionally, I contributed a thousand pounds to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics class, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite shared with outlets.

Two years ago, the band gave their funds to the local youth club that nurtured their band, alongside other grassroots music organisations.

Also winners that year they gave their winnings to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was found to have the condition.

"Winning was ample," stated vocalist the singer. "The cash was the bonus but we could do without the extra, because we had the cake. So our winning impacted the lives of others."

In the past week, the MVT revealed it had rescued two local spots in south-east England, by transferring them to community ownership.

One venue in Southampton and the second in the city were purchased under the community ownership scheme, which is funded by Arts Council England and music fans who purchase "ownership units" in the venues.
